“ISMA Merdeka Video, Seditious…”
Malaysians (and politicians for that matter) seems to suffer a misdirected perception that anything or anyone that does not subscribe to their political ideology and leanings must be outrightly condemned, as if the right to portray history and political commentaries belongs to their absolute domain. Never mind the countless verbal outbursts against whatever policies or actions adopted by the Malaysian Government which do not go down well with the “pristine” and “truly patriotic” struggle of the narrow minded and kiatsu-like political garbage.
You can spit any amount of venomous vilification against your political opponents and be nonchalant about it as the rakyat is with you.
You can shamelessly produce the likes of “Harapan Bangsa” and “The New Village” under the poisonous guise of “artistic creativity”, “freedom of expression” and “political correctness”. And don’t forget Patrick Teoh too!
But you will shout thunder and cat fight against any attempt to portray the alternative reading to the threats against a section of the community as it posed a direct challenge to what you have imposed onto the same community all along. Do you feel threatened when your misguided hypocritical camouflage was about to be defrocked?
I am not a member of that ISMA and am not about to become one. But I salute their effort to put up a great and courageous attempt at producing an alternative proposal to the general public and the majority Malay/Muslim populace as to what constitutes the clear and present danger to their religion and their future.
My advise to the maverick politicians interviewed above: Keep your own house in order first!
